Syracuse Time & Alarm is seeking a skilled and experienced Fire Alarm Engineer to design, install, and maintain fire alarm systems across commercial and residential properties. This critical role involves ensuring systems meet safety regulations, operate reliably, and protect lives and property. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Design & Implementation

• Design and implement fire alarm systems in compliance with safety standards and regulations.
• Collaborate with the sales team to provide technical insights on fire alarm systems and solutions.
• Work on Bi-Directional Amplifiers (BDAs) to enhance communication systems.

Installation & Maintenance

• Install, test, and inspect fire alarm systems and components for proper operation.
• Perform regular maintenance and troubleshooting to ensure optimal functionality.

Compliance & Documentation

• Ensure all work meets NFPA standards and local fire codes.
• Maintain accurate records of installations, inspections, repairs, and maintenance activities.

Client Communication & Support

• Provide technical support and training to clients and team members.
• Communicate effectively with clients to address system issues and recommend upgrades.

Team Collaboration

• Work closely with technicians, contractors, and project managers to deliver seamless service.
• Contribute insights and feedback to improve processes and system reliability.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
• Minimum of 2-5 years of experience in fire alarm system design, installation, and maintenance.
• NICET Level 3 or 4 certification is required.
• Extensive knowledge of NFPA standards, fire safety codes, and regulations.

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS

• Expertise in fire alarm systems and electrical engineering.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
• Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
• Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints, schematics, and technical documents.
• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.

SCHEDULE
