What You’ll Do with “Our Training and Your Experience”

  • Manage, oversee, and coordinate all aspects of small to medium fire alarm projects, from award to completion.
  • Translate customer needs into detailed proposals and project plans that meet their requirements.
  • Communicate project requirements effectively to the project team and wider organization, maintaining accurate and up-to-date records of job status, changes, material flow, and other necessary control records.
  • Act as “our customer’s best service provider” at all times, ensuring Syracuse Time & Alarm is the first choice for service.
  • Coordinate the procurement of materials, supplies, services, and controls necessary for the timely and cost-effective completion of projects within budget.
  • Establish project milestones, analyze costs, and ensure project timelines are met.
  • Perform a limited range of managerial responsibilities, including overseeing subcontractor selection and work.

What You’ll Need

  • Project management experience in a technical environment, particularly in fire alarm systems, building automation systems, and/or electronic security systems.
  • Experience: 5+ years in Architecture-Engineering and Design/Build programs, with a strong track record in managing large-scale projects.
  • Knowledge: Familiarity with NFPA 72, 101, and Fire Alarm Systems.
  • Certifications: NICET III Fire Systems certification or greater, PMI certification is a plus.
  • Education: BS in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
  • Proactive behavior and problem-solving skills, with a focus on finding opportunities and solutions.
  • Strong analytical skills to resolve issues and solid conflict resolution abilities.
  • Ability to create a collaborative working environment for customers and team members.
  • High adaptability to changing situations, with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong leadership and mentoring skills, with a focus on developing others within the organization.
  • Financial analytical skills, including cost control.
  • Experience managing client relationships and communications.
  • A valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.

Requirements:

  • Education: BS in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field; College degree, trade school, or equivalent experience
  • Minimum Experience: 5-7 years in project management, with 5+ years in Architecture-Engineering and Design/Build programs
  • Preferred Experience (but not required):
    • 5 years of relevant experience in engineering, field service, or project management
    • Experience in one or more of the following industries: electronic, fire alarm & life safety, and/or building automation
  • Certifications & Licenses: NICET III Fire Systems certification or greater; Project Management Institute (PMI) certification is a plus
